Via Network World:
The U.S. Army is having a hard time manning its IT staff because it cannot find military personnel with the right networking and IT security qualifications.
The article closes with Lisa Lee, IA Program Manager for the Army’s Enterprise Information Systems PMO saying, completely without irony:
She said she’s seen people with IT security certifications who weren’t as good in their jobs as those who weren’t similarly certified.
Remember: qualified people without certifications cannot hold a job if an under-qualified person with a certification is available. Instead, they’ll move the qualified person to a job they’re probably un- or under-qualified for.
